A day in the life

The main kindergarten day starts from 9.30 am. We do offer early morning care from 8.30 am, we do need notice if this is required for your child and a charge of £5 will be made. We finish the main kindergarten session at 12.30pm, but on Mondays and Thursdays we offer afternoon care until 2.30pm for the children and a £10 charge is made for this.

The Morning Ring

All parents and carers are welcome to join in the morning ring. At this time, we light a candle, everybody needs to be quiet so that we can say a good morning verse and sing a few seasonal songs. When morning ring has finished the children say goodbye to their parents or carers (it does help the children to settle if the parents or carers leave promptly), the toy cupboard is opened, and the session is ready to begin!

Free Play and Activities

The children can have time for free play, or they can join in activities such as drawing or baking the bread for break time. Each day of the week has a different activity either Painting, Craft, Gardening, Baking. All the activities are related to the seasons. Some of the activities we encourage the children to do as a group and sometimes individually.

Tidying Away

Tidy away time arrives with a song and we sort, fold and stack everything into its home as we sing.

Ring Time

Now its time for singing seasonal songs, finger games (fine motor skills) followed by large motor skill games.

Break time

We provide the food, usually bread we have baked during the morning with jam or honey and fruit.

Garden Time

We try to go into the garden everyday, so the children will need suitable clothing for the time of the year and sunscreen for the sunny days.

Story Time

To finish the main Kindergarten session we tell a seasonal story, sometimes a puppet show before we sing a Goodbye song.
